Main Challenges: The husband and wife use some Venezuelan slang. The officer also asks very specific, in-depth questions that need to be interpreted clearly and concisely. The officer conducting the interview is new to using an interpreter and is unfamiliar with interpreting etiquette. The interpreter is able to choose to correct the officer, or let the situation be. There is an ethical dilemma in which the interpreter can choose whether or not to interpret what is being said, or choose to let the information go unheard.
